History of Country Music on Norfolk Island

The Norfolk Island people have always loved Country Music and it has played a huge part in most islanders lives.  Nearly everyone had a piano in the house or knew someone who did and some were lucky enough to have a guitar or fiddle so entertainment revolved around home entertainment and singalongs.

‘Leccy” LeClerc put a troupe together to entertain on the island in the early 1930’s and held concerts in the old Rawson Hall.  Some lovely photos for your enjoyment courtesy of Mr. Ralph Holloway.
